Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
Hope you are all enjoying this day of Love and all of the Valentine fun I’m about to share in this blog!!! I love any holiday where I can decorate with pastels, pastel colors have my heart when it comes to a color scheme. As a child I always loved the pastel M&M’s that came out during Easter (hahaha)!!!
We started getting ready for Valentines Day a few weeks ago with a Friday night craft. I found a pack of pastel paper from the $1 section at Target, I already had two heart hole punches from previous crafts, the only other materials needed were a piece of wood, thred and of course a glue gun! We first punched all the hearts, then laid them out in a heart shape on the table, glued one heart to the front of the string and a matching heart to the back of the string, continuing with all the remaining hearts. I then attached all the strings to a piece of thin wood with hot glue. To hang we used eye hooks in the wood and in the window. Super easy!!!

Ok, now starts the home decor! Below is the Heart hanging in the front window. The strings turn and so do the hearts.
When you walk in the front door this is the view, although there are usually at least 5 coats hanging on the coat rack!
The blanket ladder is one of my favorite decor items for adding color and textile to the room. I put a small pink blanket that was Brody’s (he had to have this blanket) and a black and white blanket from Hobby Lobby. The LOVE sign is from last year and so is the dancing Valentine Snoopy (from Big Lots).
I love decorating this coat hanger that I made last year from a wood pallet and some letters hooks I got on clearance from JoAnn Fabrics. The heart garland is a few years old, from Home Goods. I thrifted the white metal heart! Love a good thrift find!

The last thing in this little area is a mailbox that Brody made for his Valentines with his Ganma last year! We kept all of last years valentines in here so he could look at them this year!

Here’s a shot of most of the living room. We changed out our normal black rug for this little black and white number because of all the colors being introduced during Valentines Day. We also got a new coffee table from IKEA, we plan on doing a reorg of the living room, this will be a part of that!

Our little chairs with my favorite bunnies!!! Most things in this area are the same! I did add in a snugly blanket from Walmart! So cute and comfy and it was only about $5!
This pillow is super special, my Great Grandmother quilted it for me and I have had it since I was a child. She was the one who taught me to sew with a sewing machine. She would give me furniture fabric swatches and I would sew together little bags!

My lovely fireplace! If you haven’t seen the making of this fireplace and the amazing before and after you can check it out here or on my vlog channel here. I strung some Dollar Tree hearts on twine, used white tulle puffball garland and sheet music garland from Target Dollar Spot. The basket in front of the fireplace has an old heart blanket with a love pillow and a glitter pillow both from Target. On the mantle I used my regular candle sticks with white candles and wrapped twine around Dollar Tree paper hearts on the candles to add color.

My Ikea coffee table is decorated with a candle, two jars of candy, fresh flowers and I laid some glitter hearts on the mirror tray on the bottom shelf.

Here is a shot from the other side of the living room!
In the dining room I did a quick Love sign, “Love is the most powerful force in the world” -Dallin H. Oaks

And finally, what Valentine’s would be complete without a little craft for the family. Brody is working away at his sun catcher Valentines! What crafts did you and your family do for Valentines! I would love to see them, follow me on Instagram @sahmsociety and tag me!!!

Thanks for reading and sharing some of your Valentine’s Day with me!!! Love to all!!!
